Volunteer Opportunities
Receptionist - Our reception area is one busy place! You will play an important role by providing administrative support to our member services team. Customer service is our top priority as we welcome new and current members and assist them with class or event registration. Computer skills and smiles are required!
Fitness Center Assistant - Help us maintain a friendly, clean and safe environment for our members. Conduct fitness assessments and provide instruction for our fitness equipment.
Computer Instructors - Join our Computer Lab Team! Instruct classes on Word, Windows, exploring the Internet and more.
Center Café Hostess - Welcome our guests and members for lunch. Check membership cards and offer hospitality to all. The hostess is responsible for scanning membership cards and recording the names of our guests.
Center Café Assistant - Assist our wonderful kitchen staff with food service duties which include serving from the food line, refreshing the beverage stations, assisting guests and members with their trays, and cleaning up. Just like your own home, meal time in our Ultimate Café is the liveliest spot in the center. Come and join the fun!
Meals on Wheels Driver - Deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout Fayette County. Drivers can choose a regular one day per week route (1 to 2 hours) or choose to be a substitute driver to be called as needed.
Shuttle Chauffeur - Drive our golf cart shuttle and assist members and guests to and from the parking lot to Center entrances. Drivers are needed during lunch time (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and for special events.
Special Events Assistant - Help plan, organize and assist with special events such as our Ice Cream Social. Provide assistance with event coordination, set-up, decorating, entertainment selection, and clean-up.
Center Liaison - Assist with special groups (such as our Honor Flight Guests), serve refreshments, give tours of the facility, or provide other assistance. If you enjoy meeting people, this is an ideal opportunity for you!
Friendly Outreach Program - Links volunteers with senior adults who have a need for non-medical companionship. A case manager will coordinate the contact between the volunteer and the senior. Depending on what the senior prefers, the volunteer is asked to commit to a minimum of one hour of companionship per week (in the home of the senior) or a friendly telephone call twice a week. |
